Hoy, Acción Internacional a 1 mes de #SentenciaTC
A un mes de haber sido dictada la Sentencia 168/13 del Tribunal Constitucional diversas organizaciones y personas en varios países del mundo se movilizan hoy miércoles 23 de octubre para expresar su preocupación por los efectos que tiene ésta sobre los/as dominicanos/as de ascendencia extranjera.

An Appeal To The International Community: A System Of Apartheid Is In Place In The Dominican Republican (Let Us Stop It From Becoming The Law Of The Land)
Recently in the Dominican Republic, the government led by President Danilo Medina, has allowed the creation of an apartheid system – similar to the one that existed in South Africa in the 20th century.
Currently in the DR, in terms of the children of Haitian immigrants who were born here, an ultra nationalist xenophobic group of politicians and leaders — such as Leonel F. Reyna , Vincho Castillo, Lopez Rodriguez , N. Agripino Collado , Reynaldo Pared Perez and Roberto Rosario, among others– have created a law where the children of Haitian immigrants (who were burn in this country and thus Dominican by birth)will be removed from their nationality.
Many of these Dominican-Haitians know no other language than our own (Spanish) or another culture than the one we have (Dominican). Actually most of these people live in the country without any identification that allows them access to national schools or registration for voting. As it is, these people represent a group of half a million who are invisible in the Dominican law system. However, the irony of all these is that the same government that denied them the nationality is the same that is guilty for bringing their parents and/or grandparents to labor under inhuman condition in the sugar field of the DR. (Anyone who will dare to write a book about this subject, Haitians in the sugar field of the Dominican Republic, will not have enough ink to describe the parent of abuse against these people).
Some of us who have knowledge of the Apartheid system that was established in South Africa in the 20th century, can see clearly that this mechanism of oppression adopted by the Dominican xenophobic elite is not only an affront to the country –in the framework of international laws and/or the human right communities at large—but also is one that is out of order with the geopolitics of 21st century.
Right now, just like in the case of South Africa, the international community has to wake up and crush this apartheid system, which has legally emerged in the DR. Therefore, the same mechanism that was used to destroy the apartheid system in South Africa should be used now in the case of the DR. To begging with, we recommend that all the multinational companies that subscribe to human rights principals (General Electric, Ford, Carter Foundation, Google, Amazon.com, Yahoo, etc, etc) to stop providing services to this nation. Also we ask that all the different foreign institutions that are providing economical services to this country, to terminate such services immediately. We would like to specially ask the government of Venezuela to suspend all aids to the Dominican Republic, since the apartheid system being stablished is against all the ideological principals of the great leader of the chavista revolution: Hugo Chavez. Furthermore, we would like for all the international human rights organizations and religious institutions—who are Christ fearing people–to speak out in a single voice against this act of evil.

Recientemente el gobierno dominicano, dirigido por el actual presidente Danilo Medina, ha permitido en el país la creación de un sistema de apartheid–similar al que se vivía en África del Sur en siglo 20. En la RD con respeto a los hijos de inmigrantes haitianos nacidos aquí, una ultra derecha nacional que la conforman personas vinculadas al PLD— Leonel F. Reyna , Vincho Castillo, López Rodríguez, Agripino N. Collado, Reynaldo Pared Pérez y Roberto Rosario, entre otros—ha creado en el país una ley donde los hijos de inmigrantes haitianos queden sin la nacionalidad dominicana después de estos últimos haber nacido aquí .
Muchos de estos hijos y nietos de haitianos no conocen otro idioma que no sea el nuestro ni otro cultura que no sea la dominicana. Casi todas estas personas viven en el país sin ningún tipo de identificación que les permite acceder a las escuelas nacionales o a solicitar cualquier papel consular con fine de viajar a otros países. Es decir, hay medio millón de personas hijos de haitiano que existen de manera invisible ante la comunidad dominicana que le niega la identidad. Lo irónico del caso es que el gobierno que le niega la nacionalidad es también el verdadero culpable de todo esto: pues muchos de estos inmigrantes haitianos llegan aquí traídos por las mismas compañías nacionales a desempañar trabajos que los mismos dominicos reniegan hacer.
Muchos que conocimos el sistema de apartheid que se tenía establecido en África del Sur en el siglo 20, sabemos que tal medida aprobada por la elite xenófoba dominicana es un agravio al país y al marco de leyes internacionales que se practican hoy con respecto a los inmigrantes y los derechos del comportamiento humano. De la misma manera que ocurrió en el caso de South África, la comunidad internacional está ahora obligada a hacer que tal sistema de apartheid que ha surgido en la R.D. sea abolido inmediatamente.
Recomendamos que las multinacionales dejen de negociar con la R.D. a menos de que se le devuelva la nacionalidad a los hijos de haitianos que por su color y su condición de hijos de inmigrantes de personas negras sus derechos continúen siendo enviolentado. Asimismo les pedimos a las distintas instituciones extranjeras que prestan ayuda económica al país que cuestionen o terminen tales ayudas a menos que en RD se pare este método de opresión hacia seres indefensos. Por lo demás, les aconsejamos a todas las organizaciones que internacionalmente velan por los derechos humanos que se unan en una voz y que se hagan sentir en los medios internacionales contra esto fenómeno de apartheid. Por últimos, a los organismos religiosos que dejan también sentir sus voces en los distintos ámbitos internacionales para que esta injustica sea suprimida aquí en la RD.
